On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the first performance of Alessandro Stradella’s Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista, on Monday 31 March at 7:30 p.m. at Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres in Roma, Andrea De Carlo is conducting some of Stradella’s compositions, including excerpts from Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista and the opera La Susanna.
Luca Tittoto comes back to London to sing the role of Ariodante in Händel’s opera Serse with the Academy of Ancient Music. Barbican Hall, 19 June at 7:00 p.m. Conductor: Laurence Cummings.
Giuseppe Gibboni performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the orchestra in Bolzano on June 9 and in Trento on June 10 with the Haydn Orchestra, conducted by Michele Mariotti.
Danilo Pastore will sing the roles of Meleagro and Discordia in Francesco Cavalli’s Le nozze di Teti e Peleo at the Monteverdi Festival, at the Teatro A. Ponchielli in Cremona. Performances will take place on June 19 at 7:00 PM and June 21 at 4:00 PM.
