ENSEMBLE

Cameristi della Scala Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1982 by musicians from Teatro alla Scala Orchestra. 

They  are performing  in the world’s most prestigious theatres and concert halls, including Teatro alla Scala in Milano, such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Victoria Hall in Genève, MIT auditorium in Boston, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, the Unesco headquarters and in the Salle Gaveau in Paris, Enescu Festival in Bucharest, Hagia Irene and Is Sanat in Istanbul, at Warsaw Opera House, Zürich Tonhalle, Sony Center in Toronto, the UN headquarters in New York, Canary Islands Festival and on tour in Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Georgia, Turkey, India. 

Cameristi della Scala have collaborations with artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Gautier Capuçon, David Fray, Renaud Capuçon, Francesco Piemontesi and Maria João Pires.

In 2018, Cameristi della Scala and étoile Roberto Bolle produced the world première of the show The Seasonsfor the opening night of the World Economic Forum in Davos. 

In 2012, they received the Isimbardi Prize from the Province of Milano, intended for institutions that have contributed to the prestige of the city of Milano in the world. 

In 2011, as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy and in collaboration with the Associazione Musica del Risorgimento, they carried out important research work on the unpublished repertoire of the 19th century, and produced a successful CD dedicated to Italian music of the Risorgimento period: three volumes of unpublished Risorgimento music for Carish, Milano. 

In 2010, Cameristi della Scala toured Israel, including concerts at the Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv, and performed four concerts in Shanghai as  ambassadors of the city of Milano at Expo 2010.

From 2007 to 2009 they were invited to play just in front of the Duomo for the  Great Summer Concert in Milano. 

Cameristi della Scala’s repertoire includes the most important masterpieces for chamber orchestra from the 18th century to the present days  and pays particular attention to the Italian instrumental 19th century music, playing many solo parts of great virtuosity, being all of them  leaders in Teatro alla Scala orchestra. The constant relationship with the great conductors has contributed to the emergence of musical timbre and phrasing characteristics that are unique in the musical panorama of chamber ensembles.
