Giuseppe Gibboni won First Prize at the 2021 Paganini Competition and made his debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa performing works by Niccolò Paganini. He has been invited to perform by Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under Zubin Mehta, by RAI Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale conducted by Joel Sandelson, by Detroit Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jader Bignamini, by Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia conducted by Lorenzo Viotti. He has also appeared with Filarmonica della Scala under Michele Mariotti, Tokyo Philharmonic, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He recently performed at Seoul Arts Center. He has performed Busoni’s Violin Concert at Teatro Verdi in Trieste and Paganini’s Violin Concert No. 1 on tour in USA, Reinvited by Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, he performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concert under Donato Renzetti. Riccardo Muti invited him to open Ravenna Festival 2025 with Orchestra Giovanile Cherubini .
Born near Salerno, he began his musical studies under the guidance of his father, a violinist. After graduating from the Conservatory of Salerno under Maurizio Aiello, he was admitted at the age of fourteen to the Stauffer Academy in Cremona where he studied with Salvatore Accardo, later he studied at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where he received the Diploma of Honour. He then attended the Perosi Academy in Biella under Pavel Berman and continued his studies with Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
The CCI Foundation in New York has granted Giuseppe Gibboni the use of the 1734 Stradivari “Lam-ex Scotland University”.
