Silvia FRIGATO

SOPRANO

Silvia Frigato is one of the most highly regarded Italian voices in the Baroque field, with an eye also turned toward modern and contemporary repertoires. Described as possessing immense talent (Forum Opera, 2023), a velvety voice (Opéra Magazine, 2023), and overwhelming intensity (Diapason, 2023), the Venetian soprano regularly collaborates with renowned conductors such as John Eliot Gardiner, Andrea De Carlo, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Fabio Biondi, and Ottavio Dantone.

She is a regular guest at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and is frequently invited to perform at leading theaters and festivals around the world.

Her second solo album, Un Angelo del Paradiso – The Orrigoni Songbook, released by Arcana/Outhere Music with Andrea De Carlo and Ensemble Mare Nostrum, and entirely dedicated to the rediscovery of Marcantonio Orrigoni, a famous castrato soprano from the late 17th century, has already received multiple awards since its recent release.

Also on the Arcana label, she released her first solo album, Lux in tenebris: Liturgy and Devotion in 18th-Century Naples with the ensemble Talenti Vulcanici, and she appears on two other volumes of the Stradella Project: Il Trespolo Tutore and Amare e fingere.

She currently teaches Renaissance and Baroque singing at the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Roma.
