Raffaele FEO

Raffaele Feo was born in Imperia in 1988 and alongside school studies he attended the conservatory in Genova under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Gloria Scalchi. Parallel to his training, he became appreciated in different repertoires from baroque to contemporary, for the musicality and ductility of his voice. He has had the opportunity to study in prestigious academies such as “Santa Cecilia Opera Studio” in Roma, “Accademia Rodolfo Celletti” in Martina Franca, “Corso di Alto Perfezionamento” at the L. Pavarotti Theatre in Modena, studying with illustrious names from the world of opera (Scotto, Devia, Prina, Pertusi, Magiera, Greco, Scandiuzzi). Since 2018, he has been studying with contralto Sonia Prina and with Ercole d’Aleo, in order to perfect his knowledge of the Baroque repertoire and of a wider repertoire that goes from Romanticism to the music of our times.

Recent engagements include Count di Lerma in Verdi’s Don Carlo and Flavio in Bellini’s Norma in Piacenza and in the Circuito Lombardo, Mascagni’s Le Maschere at the Illica Festival in Castel Arquato. In the 2020 and 2021 seasons at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma he sang the role of Schiavo in Mozart’s Zaide, director Graham Vick, conductor Daniele Gatti. Under the baton of Donato Renzetti, he sang Yamadori in Madame Butterfly. Also highly appreciated for his acting skills, Raffaele Feo made his debut in December 2019 as Nikolaj in the world premiere of Alberto Cara’s La Notte di Natale, which was then revived in the theatres of Savona and Modena, and sang Busoni’s Arlecchinata and Casella’s La Giara with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto at Teatro la Fenice. In recent opera seasons he has appeared in the Teatro Comunale in Modena, Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa in Savona, Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Teatro La Fenice in Venezia, and Teatro Comunale in Bologna. His repertoire ranges from operas by Monteverdi to Mozart titles, such as Così fa tutte, Don Giovanni, belcanto operas as well as Puccini, from Manon Lescaut to the Trittico to Turandot.
