Martha NOGUERA

Martha Noguera was born in Buenos Aires into an Italian family and graduated from the National Conservatory of Music ‘Carlos López Buchardo’ obtaining first prize and a gold medal. She studied  with Ilona Kabos, Louis La Via and Eugenio Bures. She has received numerous national and international prizes and awards, including the Georg von Lalewicz Piano Prize in Buenos Aires and the International Prize of the Americas in Rio de Janeiro.   By decree of the President of Poland, she was made a Knight of the Grand Cross in 2000 for her performance of Chopin’s complete works in various European and international  cities, including Wien, Buenos Aires, Roma, Leida.    In 2006, the city of Buenos Aires named her Illustrious Personality of Art and Music,  in 2012 she received the ‘Laurel de Plata’ Personality of the Year Award. Finally, in 2013  she was designated Member of Honour at the Academy of Music in Valencia, Spain.

In Europe, she has played with the Zürich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra, the Pasdeloup de Paris, the Polish Radio Television Orchestra, the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande (Genève), the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, the Zürcher Kammerorkester, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, the Ciudad Orchestra of Palma (Majorca), the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Wiener Philharmoniker and Europa Symphony in Wien, the Chamber Orchestra of Auvergne, the National Orchestra of Romania, the Timišoara, Cluj-Napoca and Brasov Symphony Orchestras, the Basel Radio Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana and the RAI Orchestra of Napoli, as well as in Madrid and at the Konzert House in Wien where she performed Chopin’s First Concerto, at the Wigmore Hall in London, at the Teatro des Champs Elysées in Paris, at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova and at the Palau de la Música in Valencia.

In South America she has performed in major theatres suche as  the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, the Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, the Municipal in Santiago de Chile, the Municipal in Caracas and the Municipal de México. As a soloist, she has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina, the Teatro Colón Symphony, the Philharmonic of Buenos Aires, the Symphony of Brazil, the Symphony Orchestra of the Philippines and has been conducted by important Maestros such as Nello Santi, Franz Paul Decker, Vladimir Delman, Carl Melles, Stanislaw Wislocki, Antón Nanut, Gerard Devos, Gabor Otvoss, Edmond de Stoutz, Wolfgang Grohs, Christian Brancusi.

Her extensive repertoire also includes the complete piano compositions of Chopin, Ravel and Beethoven. She was awarded the silver medal of the Trieste municipality for artistic merit after performing the complete Beethoven sonatas. She is invited by numerous festivals and has recently achieved several important successes in Wien. She played a recital dedicated to Mussorsky and Chopin in Gorizia.

She is often invited  to hold  lectures, master classes and conferences ; she  is a jury member in international piano competitions. She founded the Chopin Festival in Buenos Aires in collaboration with the Polish Embassy and  appointed   Artistic Director.   In December 2013, she was President of the International Chopin Competition in Lima, Peru.
