Italian bass Luca Tittoto made his professional debut in 2006 as Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte in Asolo. Since then he has performed in Vienna, Munich, Salzburg, Milan, Rome, Berlin, Naples, Venice, Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Brussels, and Moscow. He has worked with conductors including Sir Antonio Pappano, Sir Simon Rattle, Myung-Whun Chung, Lorin Maazel, Marc Minkowski, Gianandrea Noseda, René Jacobs, Andrea Marcon, Fabio Biondi, Ivor Bolton, Raphaël Pichon, Riccardo Frizza, Michele Mariotti, Riccardo Minasi, and Enrico Onofri.
In 2021, Tittoto debuted at the Teatro alla Scala as Giove in Cavalli’s La Calisto. In 2022, he sang Procida in Verdi’s Les Vêpres Siciliennes conducted by Omer Meir Wellber. He performed the King in Handel’s Ariodante in Valencia, Aix-en-Provence, Amsterdam, as well as at the Opéra de Paris in the Robert Carsen production. Other roles include Alceste in Rome, Zaccaria in Nabucco in Palermo, and Handel’s Messiah in Parma. In 2023, he debuted at the Komische Oper Berlin in the title role of Handel’s Saul and performed in Donizetti’s Bastarda production in Brussels. At the Bayerische Staatsoper, he appeared in La Calisto, Così fan tutte, and Guillaume Tell. He also sang Gessler in Guillaume Tell at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, as well as in Turin, Bologna, and the Edinburgh Festival.
Tittoto appeared in Norma in Venice and Palermo, and in Mozart’s Requiem staging by Romeo Castellucci in Aix-en-Provence and Brussels. In Paris, he sang Cavalli’s Ercole Amante, and in Amsterdam, he appeared in Handel’s Rodelinda. The Concertgebouw Amsterdam engaged him for Puccini’s La Bohème, Vivaldi’s La fida ninfa, and Rossini’s La scala di seta. In Bologna, he performed in Il trovatore and Don Carlo, and in Madrid, he appeared in Alcina and La Calisto.
Recent engagements include Achilla in Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the Glyndebourne Festival, and Charpentier’s Médée at the Staatsoper Berlin under Sir Simon Rattle, directed by Peter Sellars. He also sang in Genoa in Lucia di Lammermoor and in Venice in Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso. In 2025-2026 he sang Escamillo in Carmen at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis in Palermo, and Orbazzano in Rossini’s Tancredi in Rome, conducted by Michele Mariotti and directed by Emma Dante.
