MEZZO
Born in Moscow, she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and specialised in opera singing in 2008. She furthered her studies at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milano, where she attended master classes with Grace Bumbry, Brigitte Fassbaender, Mietta Sighele, Veriano Lucchetti, Veronica Dunne, Elena Obraztsova, and Evgenij Nesterenko. She has performed the role of Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Evgenij Onegin at the Stanislavsky Theatre in Moscow and at the Opera Studio of the Moscow Conservatory, Poline in Tchaikovsky’s La dama di Picche at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, Dalila in Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila at the Dublin Opera Festival, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Festival of Riva del Garda.
Her repertoire at the Novaya Opera in Moscow, where she is regularly invited, also includes roles from operas by Rimsky Korsakov (The Tsar’s Bride, Lyubasha; The Night of May, Anna; The Tale of Tsar Saltan, Babarikha), and Azucena in Il Trovatore. Anna Viktorova sang at the Theatre of Santiago de Chile the role of Marina Mnishek in Musorgskyij’s Boris Godunov alongside Roberto Scandiuzzi and returned to Santiago to sing Amneris in Aida. She also sang Marina Mnishek in Musorgsky’s Boris Godunov at Teatro Massimo in Palermo. She sang Maddalena and Giovanna in Rigoletto at Teatro alla Scala in Milano. At Teatro Comunale di Bologna she sang Olga in Evgenij Onegin, conducted by Aziz Shokhakimov. At Teatro di San Carlo in Napoli she sang Nutrice in La Dama di Picche, conducted by Juraj Valčuha. At Teatro dell’Opera in Roma she sang Nutrice in La Dama di Picche, directed by Richard Jones, Ostessa in Prokofiev’s Angel of Fire, directed by Emma Dante, conductor Alejo Perez, Filipevna in Onegin, directed by Robert Carsen, conductor Conlon. In 2024, she sang the mayor’s wife at Teatro dell’Opera in Roma, a production by Claus Guth, conductor Juraj Valčuha.
She has sung as a soloist in France, Austria, Lithuania, Japan and Germany. Among the most significant engagements in recent seasons are concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in Rotterdam, with symphonic-vocal music by Rachmaninov, Verdi’s Requiem with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in Foggia, Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder conducted by Renato Rivolta at the Cortina d’Ampezzo Festival and at the Concerti dei Quirinale in Roma, broadcasted live on Radio Tre. She sang at Riva del Garda Festival with Orchestra Luigi Cherubini conducted by Isaac Karabtchevsky. As part of the MiTO Festival in Milano, she was soloist in Pergolesi’s Salve Regina and Stabat Mater, conducted by Daniele Rustioni. Her repertoire also includes Musorgsky’s Songs and Dances of Death and Prokofiev’s Cantata Alexander Nevsky.
