A pupil of Franco Scala at the Accademia Pianistica di Imola, where he currently is a teacher and Vice President. André Gallo gives solo and chamber music concerts. Bryce Morrison, of Gramophone Magazine, describes him as “a masterful pianist with a bold and intriguing personality”. His artistic choices range from the classical repertoire to the historical and contemporary 20th century, with a particular attention to French composers : Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Francis Poulenc , Claude Debussy. In 2008 he was a Bayreuth Scholar of the Richard Wagner Association; in 2006 he was awarded the Galarte 2006 Music section of the Presidency of the Italian Republic.

He also plays with various chamber music ensembles , and as a duo with Alda Caiello and the violinist Pierre Amoyal. At l’École Normale de Musique in Paris, he collaborated with ‘Amis de Francis Poulenc’ and members of the Poulenc family. He recorded the complete sonatas for violin and piano by Gabriel Fauré with violinist Francesco Senese.
André Gallo is the protagonist of the documentary ‘Pianists’, produced and broadcast by Sky Classica; he was invited by various radio and televesions music programmes (RAI , Mediaset, Dutch National Television)
He was Guest Professor at the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Maastricht , has held masterclasses at the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur, Belgium. He is in charge of the Imola Piano Academy “Talent development” in Eindhoven.
