Alessio VERNA

BARITONE

Born in Alessandria, he studied voice under the guidance of the mezzo-soprano Franca Mattiucci.

He has recently made his debut as Malatesta in Don Pasquale at the Teatro Comunale Bologna as well as Don Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Florence Opera, title role in Don Pasquale at the Teatro Sociale Como and Monterone in Rigoletto at the Teatro Filarmonico Verona. With Rome Opera he sang Dancaire in Carmen and Matteo in Fra Diavolo by Auber.
In Verona Arena he sang Monterone in Rigoletto, Morales in Carmen and Barone in La Traviata.He also appeared as Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola at the Auditorio de Tenerife, as Sacristan in Tosca at the Teatro Alfieri in Asti (Italy) under the baton of Marcello Rota and as Dandini in La Cenerentola in a coproduction of several Ligurian (Italy) theatres, he sang Marcello in La Bohème in Alessandria, Tortona and Novi Ligure, Guglielmo in Così Fan Tutte and Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro in Alessandria (Italy), Yamadori in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Municipale Piacenza and Teatro Comunale Pavarotti Modena

In 2017-18 season he appeared as Schaunard in Naples Teatro San Carlo in La Bohème; he sang Bello in La Fanciulla del West in Pisa , Livorno and Lucca Opera theatres, revived also in Ravenna Modena and Livorno; he came back to Naples to sing Barone in La Traviata . Festival Verdi 2018 has seen his debut as Cavalier Belfiore in Un giorno di regno, director Pierluigi Pizzi. He will sing Marullo in Rigoletto, opening title of Rome Opera season, conductor Daniele Gatti.
